new year resolution number 1
Sunday, January 22, 2012
I know this post is kinda overdue.. we are already reaching the end of the first month! but hey! i am really putting a lot of though into this new yr resolution thing. i had to make a few adjustments for practical reasons (e.g. not setting unrealistic resolutions which i know i wont be able to fulfil)
So here is new year resolution 1 : TO BE PUNCTUAL
i considered " waking up early to run and make breakfast" but i think i'm gonna settle for- to be punctual. Honestly, being fashionably late is starting to get boring. With the having to apologize, acting pai seh so that my colleague/friend/teacher will not be so pissed, having to make up for it later.... it all takes too much effort and it puts strain on relationships. So for once i would like to make life better for myself and my colleague/friend/teacher by being punctual.
I am getting old. It's the year of the dragon now. next year will be my year- the year of the snake! My days of using youth as an excuse for tardiness are limited.
So here's to a punctual 2012!
Alive again

After a talk with an old friend, i'm starting to remember all that has been taught to me in my younger days. I remember what my old coach used to say -- 篮球是活的.
I'm starting to learn that, it doesnt really matter how long i have stopped. All that i have learnt playing basketball for the past 9 years, it's still with me, deep inside my heart ingrained into my memory by countless repetition, blood, sweat and tears.
It has only just started coming back to me now... I may not be what I once was, but after much searching, I've found that i still have it in me.
In many ways, that is how basketball really is. My passion has come alive again, and i remember my old coach's words, basketball is alive.
2012

Towards the end of 2011, I endured so much stress and tough times that i felt that my back was about to break. Spent countless days not getting to see the sun, almost threw me off balance. It got to a point when i started to wonder if there was any reason at all for all that I've endured.
Just when I thought that I couldnt take anymore, I found that I had finally overcome it.
